AIS reception in the smallest of spaces – that’s what the new raspAIS from Weatherdock offers in a complete package.
Equipped with a 2-channel receiver, the device receives AIS Class A and Class B signals from your environment and can forward them to a connected end device for display.
However, the raspAIS can not only be used as an AIS receiver, but also as a PC multimedia center. With 4 USB slots, mass storage devices with music or videos can be connected in addition to the keyboard and mouse.

Den raspAIS nutze ich seit 2 Jahren, sowohl mobil als auch stationär.
Antenne: verkürzte, flexible Stabantenne auf BNC-Buchse, bzw, Groundplane mit 3 Radials
Connectivität: LAN im stationären Einsatz, die WLAN-Schnittstelle ist mit einem mobilen Internet vom Mobiltelefon und einer Powerbank ideal für Wassertouristik, den raspAIS-Plotter auf dem Tablet angezeigt.
Die Empfindlichkeit des raspAIS von WD ist überraschend hoch, in unmittelbarer Nähe von Sendeantennen, wird der raspAIS allerdings zugeregelt.
Software: Die Installation vom Image braucht keine Spezialkenntnisse, man muss sich nur über seine Nutzung im Klaren sein. Die Voreinstellung zum Datenexport an Marinetraffic ist für mich fragwürdig und so habe ich das abgeschaltet.

Die beiden Gehäuseschalen habe ich mit einem Ring Klebeband verbunden, die Verbindung der Schalen ist nicht sicher.
Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufriedenen, Preis/Leistung ist gut.

Vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung. Wir verwenden als Image das System von openPlotter und haben nur geringe Einstellungen vorgenommen um eben unser Steckmodul mit dessen AIS-Daten auszuwerten. Der Datenexport an andere Systeme ist so nicht gewünscht gewesen und wird in zukünftigen Images deaktiviert, danke für den Hinweis.
