NMEA2000 T-connector

The NGX-1 is a smart gateway that converts NMEA 0183 data to NMEA 2000 (and vice versa), enabling the exchange of information between devices of both standards. This allows you to upgrade part of your vessel’s electronics to NMEA 2000 while retaining the remaining NMEA 0183 devices. This helps spread the cost of converting to NMEA 2000 and reduces the initial upgrade cost for a new NMEA 2000 device.

The ISO version connects easily to NMEA 0183 devices via a dedicated transmit and receive data cable pair. This allows the NGX-1 to exchange data bidirectionally if necessary. OPTO isolation is integrated at the input and the groundbreaking ISO-DriveTM technology at the output to protect your devices from dangerous ground loops.

Thanks to its low power consumption, the device is powered directly from the NMEA 2000 network, eliminating the need for an independent power supply.

The Actisense NGX-1 also enables secure transmission and reception of NMEA 2000 data between a PC and an NMEA 2000 network.
This allows feature-rich software applications to replace or complement dedicated hardware such as multifunction displays (MFDs) or chartplotters.

As an NMEA 2000-to-PC gateway, the device acts as a firewall for rule enforcement between the PC and the network, giving the user full control over which data is forwarded and which is blocked. The NGX can transmit all currently available NMEA 2000 PGNs from the network to a PC application.
